Noah: 3 Months

I cannot believe our sweet "Noah-bean" is already 3 months old.

What the "bean" is up to these days...

-Sleeping 9-10 hour stretches at night.  We are very rested.
-In a great eat-wake-sleep cycle.  We can always tell that he is ready for a nap 1 hour after he began eating. He eats for about 30 minutes at a time.
-He thinks he is superman.  haha.  He likes to raise his right fist high into the air.  I take advantage of this by giving him many fist-bumps.  Yep, Noah has a really cool Mamma.
-He has discovered his superman hand.  I often find him staring at his raised hand in baby-awe.  So sweet.
-His smile is sooooo big and usually involves lots of tongue and slobber.  Oh so sweet!
-He is rolling over from his back to his stomach - usually in the bed.  We're not big fans of this early achievement especially with the whole "Back to Sleep" thing.  So, during the day I check on him several times while he is sleeping to either flip him onto his back, or if his head is to the side, I'll leave him on his tummy as long as I'm close by.
-He loves the Ergo.  He falls asleep in this thing instantly.  A great baby item for grocery shopping, especially if you already have an older child.
-He is a music lover - of course.  He is content during the music portion of our church service, but the moment it stops he screams.
-He met his cousin Gavin via Skype.
-He is looking forward to going to Myrtle Beach for the first time over Mother's Day Weekend.

Yes...He understands!

"I don't think he understands".  I have personally said that phrase and heard it said by many parents referring to their young child.   So, you asked the child not to touch the bookshelf, not to put their fingers in the outlet, not to open Mommy's purse...and you think they don't understand you.  UNTIL....

Julie: "Nathan, please put this in the trash can."

Nathan: (walks to me to take the napkin out of my hand, walks to the trash can, opens the lid, puts the napkin inside the trash can, closes the lid, walks back to us and looks at us with a smile on his face)

Brian (to Julie): "Did you point to the trash can?"

Julie: "No."

Brian: "Wow, he understands much more than we think."

Julie: "Yes.  He does."

So, if he is able to put an article in the trash can and you didn't even know that he knew that bin by the back door is called the trash can, do you think he understands not to touch the bookshelf, the outlets and Mommy's purse?!

when you wake up in the morning
and it's quarter to two,
and you just don't know what to do
you brush your teeth...
