Today is the day, but what does that really mean except that about 9 months ago the doctors predicted that maybe I would have the baby on June 5th. I really wonder how many people actually deliver on their due date. Well, I'm being added to the list of "Not Delivering on My Dute Date" if there was such a list.
The Lord is good in this time. I have been learning to not hope in a date, but to hope in the Lord - to hope in what is unseen, for who hopes for what they can see, that is not hope at all. This is a perfect opportunity to experience the longing and waiting that we should have for the coming of the Lord - a far more greater treasure than anything in this world. I'm thankful that experiencing the longing of holding my baby can point me to Jesus, who perfectly fulfills every longing of my heart.
The Lord knows the exact due date, and so we wait for Him to reveal that to us.
"Be patient, therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful." ~James 5:7-11
...And so we pray to God...Nathan, come soon!
***Details of my doctor's appointment: I'm scheduled for a labor induction on Tuesday, June 12th, but there is always the hope and possibility of labor happening naturally before then.
